It’s the one area of our home that every visitor is bound to see… you literally have to walk through it to get to the rest of our house. And you know what else? It gets a lot of wear and tear. Four people and a dog traipse through it on the daily.

But this little space? It’s also easy to overlook. When I’m updating our home, I tend to focus on the spaces that we live in and skip right over this little corner.

Well, not today friends! It’s loooong overdue, but we’re giving our entryway a little facelift!

And because I love a good challenge, how about this:

I’m gave myself $100 to spend and gave myself a total of 30 minutes to update the space!

Want to see what I was starting with? Here’s the BEFORE:

It’s not terrible, but it’s a bit dated, and just feeling a little run down.

So, to make the biggest possible impact I’m going to make three key changes:

  1. Refresh the door décor
  2. Update the mirror
  3. Change the rug

Annnnnnd, without further adieu, here’s the AFTER:

Want the scoop on what we did?

Door Décor:

This was simple, I found a seasonal wreath that I liked and that fit the scale of our door. This one was about $25 and we found it at Home Sense, but I’ve found a couple similar ones here!

Mirror Update:

This took a little bit of paint magic. I used this metallic spray paint for the hardware, and then used this chalk paint for the wood mirror frame, and took a rustic farmhouse mirror to something much more modern. I’m all about reusing components when possible, and this easy DIY only cost about $40 and took 15-20 mins tops! Hot tip: tape the glass off using angled pieces in the corners to get a nice tight fit and clean application.

Fresh Rug:

A durable and cute jute rug was an obvious choice for this high traffic space (hellooooo boot wiping) and makes a big impact on a tiny budget. I scored this one at Home Sense for $25 (and if you’re counting that brings us to a grand total of $90 for the space)!

That’s it guys – three quick and easy changes to update our entryway and keep things feeling fresh in one of the busiest spots in our home!
