The Plants You Need If You Kill Every Plant

easy-care-house-plantsIf I had a nickel for every person who told me “I can’t have a plant… I kill EVERY single one” … well let’s just say I could buy another plant or two.

But here’s the thing. There are a whoooooole lot of different plants. Tall plants, small plants, spiky plants, droopy plants, and most importantly EASY PLANTS and more challenging ones.

So, if your track record with plants has been less than stellar in the past. Or, if this is your very first tiny plant baby, do yourself a favour. Steer clear of the fickle ficus and walk away from the orchids.

Instead, grab one of these little guys and watch the magic happen:

Plant 1: The Snake Plant

This guy is hearty, tolerates just about any light condition you can find in your house, and will survive if you forget to water him for a bit too long. It does an amazing job at cleaning your air, and I had one that survived in my basement for a year… I kid you not. So, this hearty little gem is always one of the first plants I recommend.

Plant 2: The Pothos

Put this little guy close to a window, in either direct or indirect light, and let the soil drain well. And that’s it. He’ll grow and thrive and make your space just a little more beautiful.

Plant 3: Heart Leaf Philodendron

If you have a spot in your house that’s got some light, but no direct sun, this beauty is your gal. She grows quickly, looks great in a hanging planter, and can survive a tiny bit of neglect without flinching. And if you decide to go down the propagation route, this is an amazing plant to start propagating!

So, don’t be afraid. Get the plant. Water it once in a while. And let it grow.
