Is it just me, or are kids basically constantly teething for like their first few years of their lives? We thought we were through the worst of it… and then BAM! Two year molars.
Emmett’s been a cranky, snuffle-nosed mess for the past couple of weeks, and once I fiiiiinally figured out that it was his teeth bothering him, I was hard at work looking for something to make him feel better (because even our go-to homemade bread wasn’t doing the trick… sigh).
I should also note that our normally fabulous eater goes on minor food strikes when his gums hurt, so finding a teething hack that also involved getting some nutrients into him was a bonus!
And of course, it was our very favourite folks at Baby Gourmet to the rescue.
Baby Gourmet gave us a seriously hot tip on their website, and we ran with it!
The secret? If your kids looooove their pouches as much as mine… try freezing them!
We took a few flavours of Baby Gourmet pouches, lined a cookie tray with waxed paper, dropped bite-sized dollops of puree onto it, and then popped it in the freezer.
Wait an hour or so, and you have bite-sized, puree melt-aways that will feel great on your babe’s sore mouth! This format is great for younger kiddos too, as long as they’re taking solids.
We also tried a toddler-ized version of this and squeezed a couple of pouches into a popsicle mold that I have. Same deal – pop it in the freezer for an hour, and out comes a healthy, delicious teething pop for your little one!
Em was sold.
His little gums felt better.
This mama survived one more round of teething.
And that’s a giant #momwin.
Note: This post was created in collaboration with Baby Gourmet, and we received product and/or compensation as part of our role as Brand Ambassadors for them. Rest assured, Em’s been eating their food for almost two years and we really do love them this much!
