I don’t know about you guys, but bath time keeps us sane in this house. We’ve been a “bath every day’ kind of family ever since Emmett was born – not so much to keep him clean (although lately that concern’s becoming REAL) – more because it’s his happy place, and it’s a critical part of our bedtime wind-down routine. Things start to go sideways a little earlier than usual? Throw him in the bath and let him play. It works wonders.
So naturally, we’ve been on the look out for the best bath accessories for baby Em for a while, and we’ve hit the jackpot. Since we love to share a great find, we’re sharing some of our favourite bath toys, mats, towels and washcloths from one of our favourite (Canadian!) companies Kushies with you today! Read on…

One of our favourite things about all Kushies products (and these bath items are no exception) is that you get fantastic value for your money. Each item is available at a great price point, and there’s no trade off in quality! You can’t go wrong.

Why does Emmett love these bits for his bath? A few highlights:
- The bath squirters are so much fun. Em’s in a serious ‘anything that drives’ phase right now, so getting to zoom cars, planes and submarines around the bathtub is basically his favourite thing ever. Also, the squirters are durable, but they’re made with soft enough plastic that little hands can squish them easily underwater to fill them up!
- The bat mat is adorable, and makes our active little guy so much safer in the tub (okay, this might be why I like it… but Em would think it was great too, if he knew that it would prevent face plants). He can move around to reach his toys without slipping and sliding, and it matches his squirters – how cute! Once it’s wet, it sticks well to the bottom of the tub, and then it peels up easily after each bath to dry out underneath. Easy peasy.
- The hooded towel is maybe our favourite. Em’s excitement for bath time is equally matched by his dislike for ‘getting out of the bath’ time… but a cozy, snuggly hooded towel makes all the difference. I found that he’s been getting too big for a lot of the baby-sized hooded towels out there, and I was getting worried about finding something cozy to ‘baby burrito’ him after the bath. Kushies to the rescue. The towel is over-sized, making it more than cozy for a toddler, and it’s a soft 100% cotton terry, that keeps our little guy snug and warm. If I had to do it again, I’d get a few of these towels right from the get-go, to last us right through toddler-hood.
- And the washcloths – not to be forgotten! We use these everywhere. Downstairs for after-meal clean up, upstairs in the bath, and everywhere in between. Kushies makes the cloths in a variety of colours and patterns, but they’re also a great value and you’ll use them forever and ever.
CREATIVITY:
Because making fun and adorable bath squirters wasn’t good enough, Kushies went ahead and made the daddy of all squirters. The jumbo yellow moonfish… or big daddy, as he’s known in our house. The giant moonfish squirter is so big and awesome – be prepared for your kiddos to want to use the firehose-like power of the squirter to ‘zoom’ the rest of the toys around the tub. Hours of fun!
