Emmett’s almost 9 months old, and he’s passionate about food. And by passionate about food, I mean passionate about squeezing, squishing, mashing and tossing his food everywhere except in his mouth. While I know it’s important for him to explore textures, and it’s all part of his learning curve in feeding himself… the resulting mess is KILLER. Amiright mamas?
So, we went on a hunt for a solution to our mess-making problem. And what did we find? The Prince Lionheart Catch Their Messes splat mat (find it here)! 
They have adorable designs, it’s got enough coverage to catch most of our food-flinger’s messes, and it easily fits in our dining room over top of our area rug where we need it most!
What makes it better than the rest? It’s durable. I found some other brands were made of very lightweight cotton-ish material covered in lightweight plastic, and were easily kicked around by doggy or human paws. The Prince Lionheart version is made of a heavier plastic/canvas-ish material that sticks well to the floor and wipes up easily! As an added bonus, it comes with a carrying case to easily store it when not in use, or bring it with you on your travels!
If you’ve got a food-flinging fiesta happening at every meal, you can’t go wrong with this find!
