Four Podcasts You Should Add To Your Playlist

mom-folding-laundryGuys, are you a fan of podcasts?

I’m going to admit, I was a slow adopter, but I’ve finally jumped on the podcast train. Partly because they’re awesome, but also partly because in this season of motherhood my life is all about multitasking. Show me a mom of young kids, and I’ll show you someone who can do a solid eight things at once.

I mean, it’s highly unlikely with two toddlers at home, that I’m going to find an hour or two to sit down and put a dent in a book I’ve been wanting to read or be able to skim through the newspaper. But it’s waaaaay more likely that I’ll be able to throw on my AfterShokz Trekz Air headphones while I’m sorting laundry during naptime and fit in a podcast episode or two!

So, want to know what’s on our podcast playlist these days?

Podcasts for Goal-Slaying Mamas:

Jenna Kutcher’s Goal Digger is our go-to listening when we need business advice, motivation, or just a little kick-butt motivation. She’s sweet, clever and unabashedly herself, and her guests are all women who are building businesses and facing all the obstacles (personal and professional that come along with it)

Podcasts for a Bit of Humour and Trivia:

We’re digging Mike Rowe’s The Way I heard It. He’s smart and funny, and tells little-known back stories behind famous people, places and things that’ll keep you entertained for hours. If you loved Dirty Jobs, you’ll love this.

Also in this genre? Burnt Toast. It’s the why, how and what behind some of the food we eat, and it shares some of the world’s craziest food stories. I can tell you, I’m not a foodie but I love this one. It’s odd, and funny, and full of moments that will make you say… really?!

Podcasts for the History Buff:

Karina Longworth’s You Must Remember This tell tales of the first century of Hollywood and all the secrets, glamour and glitz that goes along with it. If you love old Hollywood, this one is for you. And I love that it’s the brainchild of another powerhouse female.

And can we take a moment to talk about how I make listening to Podcasts happen? It goes back to the whole multitasking thing. I always have kiddos with me in the house, so if Charlie is sleeping and Emmett is playing in another room, I need to be able to hear them both (even if I’m folding laundry and catching up on podcasts at the same time). Which is where the AfterShokz Trekz Air headphones come in.

If you haven’t checked these out yet, you need to. We use them for running, but they’re also perfect for listening to music and podcasts around the house too. The bone conduction technology (it uses vibrations through your cheekbone to transmit the sound) leaves your ears open to hear ambient noise… you know, like the suspicious laughter a toddler makes when they find an unattended sharpie. They’re also ridiculously lightweight, so you almost forget you’re wearing them, and the battery life is really great (you can listen for up to six continuous hours before recharging!), which altogether makes them possibly the most mom-friendly headphones ever created.
