It’s that magical time of year. When we slow down a little, and invest some serious time thinking about what those special loved ones in our lives might be thrilled to open on Christmas morning. Who doesn’t want to find the perfect present for their very favourite people?!
But practically speaking, shopping for and finding those perfect pressies can be ridiculously stressful. Well, friends, we couldn’t be happier to be sharing with you today the toys that made our Christmas shopping simple this year… when we saw them, we knew our search was over! AFFORDABILITY:
Each beautiful, handmade, creative-play toy from Treeclub, sells for $19, and the natural wood teether sells for $18. They also have more complex (and gorgeous) wooden puzzles and push/pull toys that are priced between $50-$65. Check them out HERE.
We’ve looked at a lot of toys. A lot. There’s a plastic toy for every possible purpose, at every possible price point. However, it’s our experience that most aren’t built with quality and longevity in mind. When comparing handmade, wooden toys with their plastic counterparts, spending $20-$50 on a toy from Treeclub is very reasonable to us.
BLUEPRINT:
All Treeclub Kids toys are made locally in Toronto, by some of the loveliest folks, and they are the kind of high quality toys you hope your kiddos will be able to pass down to their own kids one day… they’re that awesome!
These toys:
- Are made of sustainably sourced Canadian Maple
- Are developmentally appropriate for kiddos that are 6 months + (it’s pretty amazing to see how your kids’ imaginations grow with the toys… Em finds a different use for his hammer every day!)
- They’re sanded smooth and finished with a baby-safe Beeswax and olive oil finish (the teethers are left unfinished… because they’ll get gnawed on, a lot!)
The hardwood used has antibacterial and non-splintering properties – so they’re safe for your littles!
CREATIVITY:
I would 
pay millions of dollars (you know, if I had it) to see Em’s creativity come to life. Watching him grab his Treeclub saw and hammer, check them out, and start inventing ways to use them is priceless. Sometimes, it takes toys created with elegant simplicity, to pique our sweet’s kiddos imaginations and allow their creativity to take shape. Treeclub toys are exactly that.
