There are a few things that unite us in motherhood. Labour and delivery, sleepless nights, poop explosions, and trying to feed a fussy newborn. Whether you’re formula feeding, breast feeding, or somewhere in between, one of the decisions that every mom is bound to face at some point, is trying to find a bottle that works for their little one. Em was notoriously picky about his bottles, and we went through a hellish few weeks trying to find something that would work so we could go out for our first night sans-babe. If we can save even one of you from that same fate, then this post will officially be worth it!
Finding a bottle that ‘works’ for your babe means first and foremost, finding a bottle that your little one will take easily… because if that doesn’t happen, then the rest is moot. Trust me. You can do research on every format, configuration and option of bottles available… but if your babe won’t use it, then it’s all just a lot of time you could have spent napping (we tried about four types before finding the bottles Em took seamlessly).
All of this is to say – there’s a bottle that we recommend every one of our new mama friends try first: The Philips Avent Natural Bottles. In our experience, they’re the brand of bottle that are most widely accepted by babes (again, because ultimately your babe is going to be the judge), and therefore it’s the one worth trying first (no sense buying four different brands to try, if this one works right from the get-go!).
So I know I said that your babe’s going to be the ultimate judge (and this will be true for soooo many more things in their tiny lives), but there are a few key reasons that we love the Philips Avent bottles from a parent’s perspective too:
- Like every Philips Avent product we’ve tried, they’re extremely well designed for baby. The nipple shape is natural, and the petals on the nipple mean absolutely no nipple collapse mid-feeding (which can be ridiculously frustrating for parent and babe), and creates an easy transition from breast to bottle, and back.
- They’re also extremely well designed for parents. They have the fewest number of individual pieces of any bottle we’ve tried, which is so important when you’re trying to disassemble, wash and sterilize your bottles after every use.
- The plastic version is BPA-free, and there’s a glass option too if that’s your cup of tea.
- They’re available in both 125ml and 260ml sizes, so you can switch it up as your milk sipper becomes a milk monster.
- They’re compatible with the Philips Avent Breast Pump (click here to check out why we love it) which makes your pumping journey more streamlined and efficient, and they’re compatible with all Philips Avent bottle and cup ranges.
- They have the PTPA (Parent Tested, Parent Approved) seal of approval, which means a lot of real life parents have tried them, and love them.
So now, because we love you and Philips Avent, we’re giving away 4 sets of the Philips Avent bottles gift sets. Save your self (or a mom friend you love) some nap time… and enter!
