Okay guys, it’s time for a bit of reflection. Somehow, we’re creeping up on Charlie’s 11-month birthday, which means turning one is JUST around the corner… and I actually can’t believe it.

It’s got me thinking a lot about the past year. What we did, how we made it through, and what helped us survive.

We’ve shared a lot with you along the way (because seriously, when I find something good I NEED to share it), but I realized there were a couple of items we haven’t shared our experience with. And before the clock rolls over on this baby stage (insert ugly cry here), we need to spill!

So, for those that have been around a little while you’ll know that we’ve used Philips Avent products for both of our babes, most of them since the time Emmett was brand new! We’ve shared our love for their bottles in the past and have talked a bit about how the Philips Avent Video Monitor saved our sanity. But I realized that there are a couple of products we’ve used (or are using right this moment) that we love and haven’t shared with you yet. So, now’s the time!

First, let’s do a little flashback to those early bottle days. You know, the ones when you’re DYING for a little freedom, and finally get your babe on a bottle? Yep. Well here’s another thoughtfully engineered item from Philips Avent that makes that transition easier… because if you’ve ever tried to sterilize a day’s worth of bottles without muttering a curse word or two, you’re a better person than I.

The Philips Avent 3-1 Electric Steam Sterilizer uses steam to sterilize bottles naturally and fits up to six bottles at once! You can also use it for pacifiers and other accessories (it’s a life saver when you’re trying to rid the house of cold and flu germs too!).

So, now let’s chat about where we are today. Approaching the one-year mark and starting to introduce cups in the place of bottles (and thinking about whole milk coming soon). We’ve been warned by our dentist about smart sippy cup options and were thrilled to find the Philips Avent My First Big Kid Cup this time around.

It’s a spoutless cup (recommended by dentists) but has the convenience of handles (which is so much easier for tiny hands). It’s spill-free because of the awesome valve along the rim (it’s activated when a mouth presses on it so it’s still easy to drink from), and it’s made from BPA-free plastic which I find makes it lighter and easier for little ones to handle. Also – you can take all the pieces apart and it’s dishwasher safe – so no second guessing how clean you’re getting it in between uses. This bad boy will be our go-to in the diaper bag with Charlie.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a first birthday party to start planning and a pile of baby photos to cry into… because it’s so true. Nothing marks time quite like seeing your little ones grow.
